Protecting the Slope

Jeff will probably appreciate this more than most - he was instrumental in measuring/loading/hauling this fabric from Kyle's "junk yard" to our home.

We completed Phase one of installing it on our slope. The BIG question is if we will get it all anchored down before Mother Nature decides to kick up her wind machine and blow it all over Washington.

Lynda tells me the theory is to cut holes in the fabric and plant juniper plants. The junipers are suppose to thrive while weeds are choked off due to lack of sunshine. Slope is erosion free, weed free and a beauty to to behold by all. . .we shall see. :o)

Still to go...the other 100-200 feet of fabric. :o(

Oh, Deer!

Saw a couple of Young Boy Deer on our road, just before I got home from Spokane yesterday. I named this one Ky-Ky. This guy has his velvet antlers going on.
In most cases the typical deer antlers begins growth out of the head in a backward motion, then quickly changes direction and sweeps forward.
Deer antlers are among the fastest growing tissues known to man.

Afternoon Tea

Melissa and I attended our second annual "Tea Date" last month (I am woefully late in posting the TBR). We had a lovely time dressing girly and this time I took a picture of the table we were seated at since someone asked us last year if the inside was nice. I think last year I took a picture of just the outside of the building. Anyway, we had wonderful tea and goodies and lots of conversation about the Jonas Brothers, the great things we would be able to look forward to in during our Washinton visit, and all our relatives that we just adore!
