Cruising' James

We started out by spending Friday and Saturday nights in San Pedro.
There are always cruise ships coming and going (that's the Sapphire Princess ship in the top picture) and there
is a Marina nearby.

Sunday we board The Mariner of the Seas.
138,000 Tons, 16 decks high, 3114 passengers.

More to follow....stay tuned!

  • I'm just catching up so I get to see these all together - very cool!

Is that San Pedro as in California or somewhere else?

  • San Pedro, California. There were making a bit of a come-back (building lots of high rise condos) but ran into a bad housing market period -- so the come-back was pushed-back. The old Ports-O-Call Village is ok for the (few) restaurants but the 'quaint shops' aren't very quaint. Maybe it will improve once town 'takes off'.
The port has a Waterfront Red Car Line that runs 1.5 miles back and forth - for a $1 all day (on/off's allowed). Can't beat that! It's a 1920's era trolley ride.
