If a cricket on the hearth brings luck to the household -- what is this fellow on the outside of the window mean? And, while we are at it, What is this fellow?
And, yea, yea, we washed the outside of the windows today, after looking closely at him.
Wow, he sure looks different than our grasshoppers. I took a photo of one today (also on glass, but I angled it so you couldn't see that it needed cleaning). I will get it uploaded for comparison.
Under the 'Better Late than Never' category; Lynda came across this in her Master Gardener Course. It looks like a Green Lacewing or chrysoperla carnea.
They are common predator of aphids. Thus, gardeners consider them beneficial insects.
We have a textbook picture of the same if anyone is interested.

That is a strange looking little guy! I would guess some type of grasshopper or locust?
