Go Mariners!
Kyle's T-Ball team, the Granada Hills Mariners, had their first game on Saturday, April 25th. The game was 3 innings. The closest they got to ending an inning on outs was the first inning, when Kyle picked up a ground ball at second base, and tagged an opposing player on his way from 3rd base to home plate to get the second out. If a team doesn't get 3 outs, the inning ends as soon as the whole team has gone to bat. Kyle singled all three times he went to bat, and scored 3 runs. | ||

Go Kyle! If we can just hold on until he makes the Majors he can take care of us ALL!

I know we are to try not to ask questions...but is tagging a runner out between 3rd and home after picking up the ball up at second base an indication of a VERY slow base runner, or a VERY fast second baseman?

The base runner actually started on second, so it wasn't so much a matter of speed. I'd say it was more a matter of the base runner not really paying attention to where the ball was. Kyle was running the ball in to the umpire to end the play (instead of throwing it in like he's supposed to) and he got in front of the runner - so the crowd sort of encouraged him to turn around and tag the base runner.

I have to say that I think those just might be the cutest pictures I have ever seen in my life.

Hmm. The photos are great - the last comment is a bit unexpected. This blog appears on my blogger profile which I use for commenting, I wonder if I can fix that so that unsuspecting people don't land here looking for me.
