Thumper gets Neutered!
. . . or, I mean TUTORED! He got neutered long ago.
We enrolled him in an eight week obedience class. He is one of fifteen. Day one went better than we expected. Lynda is in charge of handling and homework. :o)
It kind of looks like his cousin Lefty in the foreground.

That would be Lefty, sitting facing outward -- pretending all those other dogs and people are not even there.

Will they teach him how to keep the bears away?

Actually, he would be glad to chase bears if allowed out or unchained. We are concerned on what happens if he catches one.

BIG difference between tutored and neutered!
So is it worth it; is Thumper better trained (or at least, quicker to train than it would have been without a course)?

Course is one hour, once per week for eight weeks. He has completed two lessons with six to go.
Your Aunt Lynda is doing the hour instruction plus 'homework' with Thump. She says it is too early to tell.
I get to substitute as 'handler' July 15th while Lynda is in Idaho working on our other (for sale) house. That is unless Thumper and I decide to play hookie and go have a beer instead! :o)

I'll be interested in hearing what Lynda thinks at the end of the eight weeks.
We travel a lot and so a dog really isn't practical but I do wish we could have one. Especially as at the moment I'm walking every day (losing weight) and it seems such a WASTE without a dog.
Maybe I can borrow one.
